Our purées contain only fresh tomatoes grown in open fields. We harvest the tomatoes one by one in July and August and process them within a few hours. We use a slow and gentle processing system that produces lower yields but excellent results: the colour of the tomato remains bright and shiny, and the flavour is reminiscent of the best traditional purées made by Italy’s famed grandmothers, with a full-bodied, compact and dense consistency. No salt is added but only a leaf of very fresh basil. La Rustica is your handy, go-to, genuine tomato sauce with a strong and full-bodied flavour that perfectly grips any style of pasta.
